I still wish the Michigan athletic department had hired Les Miles instead of Rich Rodriguez.
This could have been a done deal as soon as Lloyd retired. Les Miles wanted to come back BAD and the AD didn’t even bother. The media constantly reported how Michigan is his dream job and how he met his wife here and this and that, yet in the end, nothing happened. Even the LSU students had already prepared to say their goodbyes and instead of bringing back one of Michigan’s own, the AD hired Rich Rodriguez from WVU who just seems plain shady. I just don’t understand why not Les Miles and why Rich Rodriguez. Even the money 1.25 million vs 4 million didn’t seem to add up.
Sure Rodriguez is a good coach and everything but Les is a damn good coach too. He is a damn good coach that just kicked Ohio State’s ass in the national championship! Something Michigan needs to do and haven’t done in a long time.
Here are just some of the instances of shady by Rodriguez that stands out to me.
-The way he left WVU
-The way he let top recruit Terrelle Pryor know of his intentions before anybody.
-The way he is trying to get out of a 4 million dollar contract with WVU.
West Virginia is RRod’s hometown too, born and raised. For him to leave his hometown like that is just kinda wrong. Sure his hometown didn’t really react to his news great either but still, as a 3rd grader may argue, he started it.
There goes the integrity and loyalty of the Michigan Football program that Bo made famous. The coach who turned down millions to coach elsewhere for only 60,000 a year at Michigan.
